About Koress Clothing
Koress Clothing - from the begining.
From a very early age I, Karen Thompson wanted to be my own boss. Determined to start my own fashion label I began my journey. I began by gaining a place on a BTEC ND Fashion and textiles in Yale College Wrexham. While at Yale College I also gained numerous qualifications in fashion design, pattern cutting, photography and computers as extracurricular activities. My placement at Vivienne Westwood during my time at Yale College gave me a glance into the fashion industry and confirmed my dreams to start my own clothing label.I then went on to study a BA Fashion and Textiles degree at John Moores University. During my degree I developed my unique style of design which is the blueprint of my clothing label, Koress Clothing.
Koress Clothing - Inspiration from life for life.
Koress clothing could be described as urban surf as I grew up by the coast have always taken great inspiration from life by the sea, but as the city called me from an early age, I find the bright lights and hustle and bustle of the city another inspiring surrounding.So with both these strong influences I combine the two, the simplicity of beach life and the complexity of city life; taking strong bold surf style prints and the trouble-free designs of beach wear contrasting them with the intricate designs for a more eventful life with a more daily practicality.Adding to all this the amazing designs that mother nature provides for us, vibrant colours rich textures and fluidity then the very different man made sleek city look of strong hard lines, darker colours.
Koress Clothing – The label
Koress Clothing style was initially inspired by early old school hip hop style when women wore less feminine, baggy, oversized and layered clothing. Koress Clothing brings back this sporty, baggy, tom boy style while keeping a strong feminine look. Clothing that bares mid drift, shoulders and hugs the contours of the female figure. It is a clothing range for those who want to wear casual wear but with a unique style.
